an office building. lorraine blanco has more on the collision that sent the officer to hospital. good morning, appalachian. >> the crash is under investigation this morning and police are not sure, we can tell you right before the crash, the officer was near a crime scene. they were looking for two suspects just before 1:00 a.m. he collided with a prius at the intersection of park boulevard and then crashing into an h&r block. the police car's sirens were blaring and the scenes were after which was unbelievable. >> i spoke with an officer on scene, he said his conrad were

together and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be the problem. and an apartment fire is now under investigation and it happened on camden avenue at 9:00. several people were treated for injuries and the flames quickly spread through the densely populated complex. it was a big challenge which took more than 90 minutes to control the flames. in just a couple of hours, the man suspected in the movie theater massacre will face a judge. james holmes is not cooperating with the police. they are investigating whether he used his position in his graduate's program to collect hazardous materials. he is accused of boobie trapping his apartment where he collected several things

connected to the batman movies. 12 were killed on friday and several others wounded and police are trying to figure out a motive which could take a long time. well at a vigil, the governor of colorado diminished the accused gunman. >> i refuse to say his name. . >> welcome back, we are following breaking news, police are responding to a scene in san jose. jeanine joins us with more, jeanine? >> reporter: pam, at this point there is a lot of police activity and we are seeing 12 police cars and police are being tight-lipped and they have this whole area cordoned off from 7th all the way down to julian. we have been told by at least one officer that shots have been fired and we have seen police officers walking around with their rifles but they are being tight-lipped about what is going on here and soon there will be a press information officer who will come on scene

and at this point nobody has been evacuated and the neighbor is quiet and we are hoping to find out soon what is going on and there is great concern from officers as this whole area is cordoned off and as i mentioned they are gearing up with rifles and that's the latest from the scene at 7th and washington, jeanine dela vega ktvu channel 2 morning news. and in bulgaria they think the man has a u.s. passport under the name of davis jefferson. he may have left after the attack that killed 6 people. they fear a repeat of the 1972 olympics in munich which is when 11 israeli athletes and coaches were murdered. the massacre has prompted

the fog bank held in check, knowed in and squashed things. that will allow temperatures to start cooling down more towards south bay not as hot as we had on the weekend. i think they will be out of the picture but they are up towards the sierra nevada and will continue. the fog is on the increase here. we will probably see it on the coast but looks what happens and they will still be there by tuesday as low pressure stays there for the bulk of the week. cooler breezy, some warm to hot inland, you will find some low- to-mid 90s and closer to the coast. bigger increase and it stays there and with your weekend always in view it looks like a quiet mild pattern. stock markets around the

. so far the ocean beach san had shifted causing more than 65 road closures and the road crews will start transporting 130,000 cubic yards to an area south of the boulevard. it is expected to begin late this month or early next month. animal rights will continue outside the social club despite the decision to take it off the menu. the san francisco restaurants

jose. they are live at the scene to tell us exactly what is going on, jeanine? there are at least a dozen police cars and they have this area cordoned off all the way to julian street which is one block off. we are told shots were fired inside a home there and there is at least one victim who was injured and apparently transported to the hospital. we don't know how serious the injuries are and at this point there are two dozen police officers congregating we don't know who is responsible but we see police with guns drawn at different corners. street and they are basically going door to door talking with other witnesses talking about what they know about to the were -- shots were fired inside

parking as well as vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be off limits. they should reopen by 10:00 and police plan to close the 17th street entrance to the 19th street bart station. mitt romney is also starting his day here in the bay area. yesterday mitt romney attended three fundraisers and attended an event at the fairmont hotel and wrapped up dinner. this morning mitt romney heads for another fundraiser. and it is just about 20 minutes from right now, the ncaa is expected to announce punishment following the jerry sandusky scandal. it included top university officials including the late coach joe paterno did nothing to stop the abuse.

. here is a quick look at some of the top stories, we have breaking news from san jose, police confirmed they are investigating a fatal shooting. police say somebody was shot in a home at 7th street in washington. you can see police have that

area blocked off and they are questioning witnesses. also in san jose, at least a dozen people are displaced by this apartment house fire. firefighters say there is no sprinkler system there on camden avenue late last night. at least five people were treated for minor injuries and the cause is under investigation. president barack obama is in the bay area this morning but he will be flying to reno nevada and he will be back here in the bay area this afternoon and will attend three funds raisers in the oakland area. there is a shooting and officers fired rubber bullets after protesters got out of hand. police shot manuel diaz as he ran while they were trying to question him. officers say people were

he was shot near ingle street and north ridge road. the teen was taken to san francisco hospital and his condition has not been released and no arrests have been made. richmond police are looking for two men who shot two other men and they pulled up in a black saturn that cost 11:20 and they asked what victims what gains they were they -- gang they asked them what gangs they were in and when they replied no gangs the men shot them. they are expected to survive. officials are saying funds will be used to improve transit service all over the bay area and that announcement is set for 10:30 at the civic center plaza. i tried gator while i was

. good morning, most are moving rapidly out of the picture, still some 90s inland and temperatures are starting to come down. a teen is in the san diego hospital after jumping off the cliff into the ocean and there he is on that stretcher. rescue crews used a helicopter to take him to safety. when he landed he landed on somebody else and that's how he

got hurt. we don't know the extent of his injuries. two people inside got out safely. it happened at 9:20. it took 20 minutes to put out the flames and firefighters say it appeared in the kitchen but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. there is a pretrial conference, he was pulled over on the bay bridge back in april. chp said he had a blood alcohol level of 3.3 and they say there were procedural errors made the night of the stop. a fundraiser was held for a little girl who survived a crash that killed her father analysis. 41-year-old solomon nouri and his daughter was killed. 21-year-old hanna survived.
